LG Fridge repair

 The customer was complaining about error code on the display of refrigerator LG as well as the user interface does not work like it is supposed to, the customer was unable to switch dispenser from ice to the water.

This error code means no connectivity between the user interface board and the main control board.

We start from disassembling dispenser and removing the freezer door hinge cover.

User interface connected to the control by the 4 wires harness, we checked all of these wires, and find out one of the wires (responsible for data transmission) was broken inside the door. 

We found the broken wire.

The harness for user interface comes only together with the freezer door and cost of this part assembly around $500

 

We looked at the diagram and find out if the customer can sacrifice the light of the dispenser, we can use these wires and restore user interface functionality.

we agreed with the customer about this modification


and fixed the malfunction by using the wires for the dispenser light.

Fridge works fine!
